Happy Thanksgiving

I will have much more to share, but wanted to pop in and wish you a very happy Thanksgiving! Can you believe that it's warmer here than it is for poor Janet in California?!
Whether your loved ones are crowding your table or filling your heart, enjoy your time and memories with them today.  Or tell them to get the fuck out of your way like I do but with a smile.

The tablecloth is finished! She hates it though and
can't wait to rip it to shreds.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! Looking forward to some great pics of your day...no pressure lol. We're freezing our toes off this morning in our section of CA but it's a wonderful break after endless summer. Feels positively seasonal!

    1. Thank you! I love place cards! I didn't really "need" them either as I only ended up having eight. No worries, Barbie never gets anything but her approved foods! It's wonderful because she never begs for food.

Thank you for all your tips and especially your humor!! And, yes it was really cold here this morning in Northern California (I live an hour North of San Francisco) 38 degrees! I was planning on participating in a 10k/Turkey Trot but, wimped out and went to the gym instead, ha!

    P.S. your table is beautiful!!

  15. Happy Thanksgiving, Stephen Andrew! Love your table setting. Orange is one of my fave colours. Yes, hide the cloth from your mama! Looking forward to the full post!
Strangely enough, it was only 2 degrees here last night. Very cold for this time of year in Oz, when it's almost summer. Luckily it didn't frost or the poor veggies would have been cactus!
Well done FF, with the Turkey and trimmings! We just had tuna, tomato and two peppers pasta (a Jamie Oliver sauce) - but we did have champagne, followed by pancakes sprinkled with lemons from our own potted tree - and wonderful ice cream.
    Best wishes, Pammie

  16. Mama did a great job, and with those blue glasses - heavenly! I just made a hell of a mess carving the turkey, drippings all over the kitchen floor. Took a break with a glass of wine and powered through it. Happy Thanksgiving!

  17. Happy Thanksgiving! Your table is lovely, as are you. Not sure what Ellie would make of your blue and white but you already know that! :-) I'm of the "champagne taste, beer pocketbook" brigade so no hope for any of the real stuff anytime soon but hope springs eternal for us all.

Cannot wait to hear about the menu.. At my house we spent too much time waiting for the turkey button ( timer) to pop. Then found out they are not that reliable! And this was an organic turkey...

  25. Stephen, your mother's tablecloth looks fantastic and your table setting colors are gorgeous! Love the place cards, too. We had beautiful sunny weather in the 60's, so unusual for this time of year. I've completed phase one of the whipped cream testing - made your recipe first, it was delicious AND remained stable for three days! I also made a pumpkin pie to test the whipped cream on. I used the Meta Givens recipe... gave part of it to my neighbor for her vote on it, with the whipped cream (thumbs up for both) and I ate the rest to see if I could "cure" my pumpkin aversion, lol. It's getting better, but I'm not totally sold. Phase two of the whipped cream test will be tried out on apple pie, I think.

    1. Thank you! Okay I actually tried a new pumpkin pie recipe last minute and my sister and aunt who both decidedly hate pumpkin pie loved it. My sister said it didn't have the "barfy" element to it that pumpkin pie often does haha. I will post it! So glad the whipped cream recipe held up for you! Three days! Glorious!
